5. When I am giving instructions, your phones and headphones should be invisible. MNPS has specific regulations  for electronic devices. Security of your electronic devices is your responsibility.

8. It is your responsibility to make up missing assignments. No late work will be accepted after two weeks from the date assigned. The only exception is for excused absences.
9. Be respectful of others.

Take documents home, get signatures, bring back for "big" grade. 

No "get out of class" permission notes without a note or email request

No phones except for classwork.
If your phones are out during instruction, place them face down. 

Do not listen to music in the classroom. No earbuds or headphones. 


Notes assignments will not be accepted after the day they are due.

Directions:

Open Photoshop

Window>Workspace>Essentials
Window>Check Layers, Application Frame, Options and Tools 


Make a new Photoshop document

Width: 11
Height: 3
Resolution: 200


Save as Halloween into your documents folder

Select the Type Tool. Press the caps lock key for all caps.

Select this typeface. Impact. 60 pt. Color: Black


Type: HALLOWEEN

Edit>Free Transform.

Resize HALLOWEEN to fill the document space.









Press the enter/return key

Find a Halloween-type photo in Google images

Place the photo in the Photoshop document. Remember to drag this photo onto the Photoshop icon before you place it in the Photoshop document.

Resize the photo so that it covers the entire document.

Press Return.

Place your cursor precisely on the line separating the photo layer from the HALLOWEEN layer.

Press and hold the option key on your keyboard.

Click




NOW.....Repeat what you just did, but this time create 4 different Photoshop documents:

FALL

WINTER

SPRING
SUMMER

Width:7 inches
Height:7 inches
Resolution: 200

Save each in your documents folder.


You should have 5 separate Photoshop documents when we finish.

Adjustment Layer
A layer that lets you apply color and tonal adjustments to your image without permanently changing pixel values

Background Layer
The bottom most layer in the Layers palette, the background layer is always locked, meaning you cannot change its staking order, blending mode, or opacity convert it into a regular layer

Filter
Automated ways to alter the look an image, for instance, to make it look like a mosaic add unique lighting, apply distortion, and so on

Gradient
Any of the several methods for achieving a smooth transition between two adjacent colors, including black an white

Layer
Layers are like stacked, transparent sheets of glass on which you can create images. You can see through the transparent areas of a layer to the layers below. You can work on each layer independently

Resize
To change the physical dimensions of an image, a canvas, of a window

Scale
To change the proportions of an image. To scale an image in proportion, press and hold the shift key as you drag the image up or down from a corner.

Selection
A part of an image selected for manipulation of any kind - duplication in a layer, color correction, deletion, rotation, and so on. The selection consists of all the pixels - fully or partially selected - contained within the selection boundary

Transform
To scale, shrink, enlarge, skew, distort, rotate, or change the perspective of a layer, selection, or shape

Zoom
To magnify or reduce the view of an image. Zooming does not affect image size

80 is the highest possible grade for past due work. Past due assignments will not be accepted more than 2 class meetings after a due date.


Email finished assignments correctly. Save as JPEG and include assignment title and block.

Your block (or period)
Your assignment attached as a JPEG
